Come installare ShareThis' Strumenti su Squarespace

ShareThis makes it easy to install social share, follow, reaction, and more strumenti del sito web on your Squarespace site so visitors can quickly share and engage with your content.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to install ShareThis on Squarespace using the Code Injection feature and then enable the apps you need in the ShareThis Platform. Requirements

If your site is on a Personal (legacy) or Basic plan, Code Injection isn’t available, so you won’t be able to add the ShareThis script and our tools won’t work on that site.

In order for ShareThis tools to work on your Squarespace website, follow the steps below to add your unique ShareThis code to the <head> section of your website: 

  1. Log in or sign up to the ShareThis Piattaforma.
  2. Add your domain.
  3. Copy your unique ShareThis installation script.
    • You can find it in Step 1 of any App page (e.g., Inline Share Buttons, Sticky Share Buttons, Follow Buttons).
    • Or, you can find the same script in Settings → Setup inside the Platform.
  4. Accedere al proprio sito web Squarespace.

Do ShareThis tools work on all Squarespace plans?

No. ShareThis tools require adding a small installation script to your site using Squarespace’s Code Injection feature. Code Injection is only available on certain higher-tier Squarespace plans (not on Personal/Basic). If your plan doesn’t include Code Injection—or the panel is locked in Settings → Advanced → Code Injection—you won’t be able to install ShareThis on that site.

Why don’t my ShareThis buttons show up on my Squarespace site?

First, confirm that your ShareThis head code is correctly pasted into Settings → Advanced → Code Injection → Header and that you clicked Save. Then check that the app you want (for example, Inline Share Buttons or Follow Buttons) is enabled in the ShareThis Platform and that any required placement code has been added to your page or blog post. Clearing your browser cache or testing in an incognito window can also help.

Can I customize how ShareThis buttons look on Squarespace?

Yes. Design and behavior are controlled in the ShareThis Platform, not in Squarespace. From the Platform, you can choose between Smart or manual network selection, adjust button size, shape, and colors, change alignment, and toggle features like share counts. Once you save your changes there, the updated design will automatically apply to your Squarespace site.

Can I add ShareThis buttons only to specific pages or blog posts?

Yes. For inline tools, you can add the placement code only where you want the buttons to appear—for example, in a Code Block on a specific page, or in Blog Post Item Code Injection for a particular collection. This lets you control exactly where your share or follow buttons are shown.
