Reaktionsbuttons give your visitors a quick, fun way to react to your content with emoji-style responses (like, love, wow, LOL, sad, or anger). To install ShareThis reaction buttons on an HTML website, you’ll first add the ShareThis installation script to your , then place the reaction buttons where you want them to appear.  You can check more of our free Website tools, hier.

In order for our reaction buttons to work on your HTML website, follow the steps below to add your unique ShareThis code to the <head> section of your website: 

Adding the Installation Script

  1. Log in or sign up to the ShareThis Plattform.
  2. Add your domain.
  3. Copy your unique ShareThis installation script.
    • You can find it in Step 1 of any App page (e.g., Inline Share Buttons, Sticky Share Buttons, Follow Buttons).
    • Or, you can find the same script in Settings → Setup inside the Platform.
  4. <strong>Paste </strong>the script into your website’s <head> section, then save and publish your changes.
  5. In the Apps section, select Reaction Buttons, click Enable App to activate it on your site.
  6. (Optional but recommended) Customize your app.
    • Choose between Smart Share Buttons or manual selection of networks.
    • Adjust colors to match your brand.
    • Set button size, shape, alignment, and enable share counts if desired.

If you’re using Inline tools (such as Inline Share Buttons, Follow Buttons, or Reaction Buttons), you’ll also need to add a placement tag.

  1. From the App page, copy the placement code shown in “Step 3: Add the Placement Tag to Your Site“.
  2. Paste that code into your page’s HTML wherever you want the buttons to appear (for example, below a blog post or product description).
  3. Save and publish your page.
