It’s easy to put up walls but harder to break them down and build something everyone can stand on. At ShareThis, we aim to provide a federated sharing network that all can use and enjoy.
To provide the best possible experience to all users, it is imperative to create product and brand consistency, as well as access to a knowledgeable support team. This is why ShareThis works to ensure that each time you click on the widget you receive the same look and feel that you are accustomed to, complete with the sharing services you expect and the features you use. We extend this same reliability and quality to each of our browser plugins, bookmarklets, blog addons and publisher websites.
For our publishers, using our sharing service means we are able to:
• Provide reporting and analytics
• Integrate with Google Analytics and Omniture
• Provide a top shares API
This helps publishers know what content users are finding interesting, prioritize it accordingly, and make recommendations about other stories or items that visitors would enjoy.
Providing a branded product experience also means we are able to:
• Deliver the same widget look and feel each time users visit
• Troubleshoot questions or issues quickly
• Provide support forums and email contact with a knowledgeable team for feedback and questions
• Ensure quality support of consistent sharing services
By providing a network for many sharing services, with a universally recognized icon, constant attention to quality, availability of reporting and customer support, we believe sharing can benefit users and publishers alike.
We see support for a federated sharing network through the more than 100,000 websites that use ShareThis, and from the millions of shares sent through ShareThis each month. We welcome your thoughts and suggestions, and thank you for joining us in our continued quest to keep inspire learning and sharing simple.
– The ShareThis Team

Dear ShareThis Team,
The ShareThis button has literally saved me hours of time by streamlining the process by which I share content, both personally and professionally.
Unfortunately, the recent changes to the ShareThis have caused me to lose much of these gains. The new functionality has confused several of my favorite sites, forcing me to share my content manually - the tedious process that I turned to ShareThis to help automate.
I would like to know if I can choose to revert to the old ShareThis functionality, removing the shar.es intermediary. If this is not an option, I will be looking for a new tool.
Thank you,
Matt
